Trip through the highlands with visit to the volcanic landscape Ampefy, the Lily waterfall and the famous national park of Andasibe. At the end of the trips some days stay in Foulpointe - a seaside resort for relaxation.
TOUR
1st day: journey to Paris
Flight to Antananarivo (Tana), the capital city of Madagascar.
2nd day: Arrival at Antananarivo - Tsimbazaza
Arrival at Antananarivo (Tana), Ivato Airport. Check-out and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we visit the zoological-botanical garden of Tsimbazaza. We will get there an impression on Madagascar’s plants and animals. Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
3rd day: Ambohimanga - Antsahadinta
Today we visit the hill Ambohimanga and Antsahadinta, former royal seats. In Antsahadinta we take a little walk in the woods. The museum there is managed by one of the descendants of the king. Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
4th day: Highland
After breakfast drive to Ampefy, a wonderful volcanic landscape. We take a little walk to the geysers. The road is in very bad condition but the place is very interesting. Hotel Kavitaha or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
5th day: Volcanic landscape
Today we walk to the Lily waterfall with its very old electricity generating station. A small picnic and the wonders of nature and countryside are waiting for us. Hotel Kavitaha or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
6th day: Tana’s Markets
Back to Tana , the capital city. The rest of the day is for visiting several of the markets of Tana. We also take a look at the colonial buildings. Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
7th day: Marozevo, Andasibe
Journey to Marozevo, to the private reserve of Peyreiras, where the world’s biggest butterfly and numerous reptiles are raised. Largest butterfly, the Komet can be seen there. Also, we find there many other species of animals, like chameleons, crocodiles, frogs etc. Continuation to Andasibe. Hotel Feon'ny Ala or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
8th day: Reserve Andasibe
As a highlight of our journey we visit the Perinet Analamazaotra Reserve Nature Reserve (810 hectares). Rare species of animals like lemurs and Makis live among the subtropical vegetation. The Indri, the biggest lemur, live here. An unforgettable experience for all nature-lovers. Bungalow Feon'ny Ala or euqivalent, bed and breakfast.9th day: Tamatave
Journey to Tamatave. Sightseeing in Tamatave, the most important port of Madagascar. Hotel Generation or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
10th - 12th day: Foulpointe
Transfer to the seaside sesort Foulpointe: relax, beach etc. Generation or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
13th day: Tana
Early in the morning we drive back to Tana. Gregoire bed and breakfast.
14th day: Tana - Flight back to Paris
In the morning we go again to the famous artisan market "Marché d’Artisanat", possibility of buying souvernirs. In the afternoon transfer to Ivato airport where we check in for the return flight to Paris.
15th day: Arrival in Paris
In the morning, arrival in Paris.
You are always welcome to ask us about the kind of travel experience you are looking for; we (almost) always come up with a solution. Alternatively, you can arrange an appointment with us for an individual consultation, and we will make a customised offer.
Hotel arrangements may be subject to alteration. Departure times of flights can be postponed by as much as several days, as airlines can change their operating days in the course of the year. All remaining trips are then reorganised in accordance with customers’ wishes.
Suitable vehicles are arranged in accordance with the number of travellers (1-8) to ensure the best value. English- or German-speaking guides are available, as is the option to travel without a guide. These trips can also be reorganised on an individual basis depending on areas of interest.
Whether as part of an organised programme or as an extra, we can also offer a few refreshing and therapeutic days for a chance to bathe, as required. Tours on the themes of mineral wealth, ornithology and botany are available by arrangement, but require planning and booking well in advance due to time restraints and the availability of skilled personnel.
