Study trips - Roundtrip experience
Journey to the southwest coast with visit to the famous national parks Ranomafana and Isalo. Then flight to the west to Morondava to visit the famous "Allee des Baobab" (one of the Madagascar landmarks) and the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Tsingy de Bemaraha".
TOUR
1st day: Flight to Madagaskar
Flight to Madagaskar via Paris. It’s possible to start the journey from several airports in Germany to Paris.
2nd day: Arrival at Antananarivo
Arrival at Ivato Airport. Check-out, service and transfer to the Hotel Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast. Short explanations of the journey. Then sightseeing including a visit to the Botanical Garden Tsimbazaza and its little museum. Hotel Gregoire, bed and breakfast or equivalent.
3rd day: Antananarivo - Antsirabe
Our journey leads us by the highland to Antsirabe, a spa known in the colonial times. Visit to a volcanic lake. This region is rich in minerals. We'll also visit a precious stones cutter workshop. Bed and breakfast Hotel Diamant or equivalent.
4th day: Antsirabe - National reserve Ranomafana
Continuation of the journey in the highland to Ambositra. Visit to a handicrafts factory and drive to Ranomafana. Bed and breakfast Bungalow Domaine Nature or equivalent.
5th day: Ranomafana - Fianarantsoa
In the morning excursion to the Ranomafana national reserve. Tropical rain forest, home of different arts of lemurs, exotic freshwater fishes and the Ravinala-palms, also named “tree of the travellers". Toward evening, we continue to Fianarantsoa. Bed and breakfast, Hotel Soafia or equivalent.
6th day: Fianarantsoa - Ranohira
Past the granite ninepins of the Andringitra mountains and over the deserted Horombe plateau the journey goes to Ranohira on the edge of the Isalo mountains. Visit to the famous "Paper Antaimoro" workshop in Ambalavao. Then drive to Ranohira. Bed and breakfast, Joyau de l'Isalo or equivalent.
7th day: Isalo national reserve
Walk in the Isalo national park with picnic at the Piscine Naturelle, a small lake with waterfall. The Isalo is a mountainous region, characterised by rocks with rocks with bizarre formations. Bed and breakfast, Le Joyau del Isalo or equivalent.
8th day: Ranohira - Tulear
Today we continue to Tulear with very beautiful landscape. On the way we'll see Mahafaly graves and Baobab trees. Few kilometres outside Tulear there is private botanical Garden "Arboretum", where you can see typical plants from the dry southern part of Madagascar. Bed and breakfast, Hotel Plazza or equivalent.
9th day: Tulear - Tana
Transfer to the airport and flight back to Tana. Bed and breakfast Gregoire or equivalent.
10th day: Morondava
Transfer to the Airport and flight to west to Morondava. In Morondava transfer to the hotel. Then we go for a walk in the city. Bed and breakfast Renala or equivalent.
11th day: Alle Baobab - Kirindy
In the morning we drive to the reserve of Kirindy past by the famous Baobab Avenue. In the dry forest of Kirindy live different animal species. Some species are still not identified. Scientists like to come here to research. Then we continue to Belo Tsiribihina. Bed and breakfast, Hotel Belo or equivalent.
12th day: Bekopaka
After Breakfast we continue to Bekopaka, to the reserve of Tsingy de Bemaraha the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bed and breakfast Olymp or equivalent.
13th day: Tsingy of Bemaraha
Today we visit the national park of Tsingy de Bemaraha. Tsingys are a sharp limestone with peaks up to 30m high. The Tsingy de Bemaraha extend over 157 710 ha area - an impressive natural phenomenon. Bed and breakfast Olymp Belo or equivalent.
14th day: Morondava
Early in the morning we drive back to Morondava. We'll be at the Baobab Alle late in the afternoon to see the sun set. Bed and breakfast Renala or equivalent.
15th day: Morondava - Antananarivo
Transfer and return flight to Tana. Here transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is free. Gregoire or equivalent, bed and breakfast.
16th day: Antananarivo - Flight back
Visit to the famous market “Marche de Artisanat". Possibility to buy some souvenirs. Transfer to the airport and flight back to Paris.
17th day: Arrival at Paris
Arrival in Paris.
